The first weekend in September saw the arrival of a brand new event on the BMGA tour - the Welsh Open - at Treetop Adventure Golf in Cardiff.

The event, three rounds of strokeplay, played exclusively on the Ancient Explorer Course, saw 25 players battle it out for the Welsh Open title along with the Treetop Open title (exclusively for Local novices).

Chris Smith took the silver medal with Steve Lovell taking the bronze. In the Treetop Open Championship, Russell Crocker took the honours with a superb 6 over par score with Martyn Williams second and Jez Millard third.
