Stringing issue

I was having a serious issue with stringing with SFACT. The problem turned out to be insufficient filament retraction on moves, though I never solved the problem there despite a lot of fiddling with the settings. SFACT tries to hide the "complicated" settings behind a couple of other things and presumably uses its own algorithm to figure out the optimal setting.

In desperation I tried "Slic3r" which is a skeinforge replacement. It solved the problem immediately, but is not currently a viable replacement for Skeinforge due to many features not yet implemented.

In the end I decided that I should just break down and learn to use full Skeinforge. That worked fine too. My settings are, minimum distance after retract, 2mm, retract distance 3mm, retract speed 40mm/second (though that is limited by firmware)

There are still some troubles there, for which "cool" needs to be activated (Slic3r has no cool function currently).
