UGC & Secret Foodies presents Chocolat
On the 2nd & 3rd of March 2013 UGCers & Secret Foodies combined forces to go on a creative culinary journey of decadence to experience the world of the film Chocolat in a whole new way! Guests arrived at the secret location of the Railway Hotel in South Melbourne dressed ready for a 1950s soiree, where they received a refreshing Hendrick's Gin & tonic welcome drink, and met some characters from the film who then guided them to their next secret location - the South Melbourne Commons; which was set up like a french provincial market place. There, thanks to the pure genius of our catering partners Bright Young Things - Culinary Event Makers they indulged in delicious canapes such as authentic french onion soup, duck liver pate & fresh market oysters whilst sipping chilled sparkling Brown Brothers Winery Prosecco & refreshing Perrier; mingling with fellow cinefiles & foodies alike discovering more characters from the film come to life to play with. As the sun was dipping on the warm summers night the dinner bell rang and guests were ushered inside to sit at beautifully set tables to eat their entree & main course whilst enjoying the film. No details were spared - even the timing of serving the main course coincided with the feast that was being presented on the screen in front of them and the main itself was inspired directly from that scene! After the meal and film guests were informed that desert was to be served outside where they walked excitedly into a world of fire, gypsys, dancing, music by Gypsy Jam and of course bountiful chocolate decadence! Sipping port & dancing the night away - it was truly an experience to be remembered and we can't wait to do something special like this again with Secret Foodies - but shhh....tell no-one!
