Holmfirth vineyard (2)
Holmfirth vineyard has been developed since 2008 on land which was previously a sheep farm in the Holme Valley in West Yorkshire. It is one of the most northerly vineyards in Britain and is now producing three varieties of wine, two white and one rosé.
We visited it because my daughter gave me an original Christmas present - an 'Adopt a Vine' package including a tour of the vineyard.
This is the owner, Ian Sheveling (second left), talking to our group in the field of Solaris vines - a white grape variety.
The vineyard's website is at www.holmfirthvineyard.com/
