2016-06-14 - Joey Scouts - Queen's Birthday Party
The Joeys were in party mode to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday milestone.

They were invited to come dressed in theme & lived up to the challenge. There were Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses, Knights & even a Corgi (& a random bearded Camilla)!

Festivities kicked off with some ribbon art on the Scout Hall fence in the shape of a crown.

The Joeys then formed a Guard of Honour in the hall and eagerly awaited the arrival of King Spencer and Queen Ella.

After making their grand entrance, Queen Ella was presented with an orb & sceptre by Leader Anna.

It wouldn’t be a royal party without a ‘Make Your own Crown’ activity. The Joeys got stuck into that with much enthusiasm before moving on to a game of ‘Musical Thrones’. This is when you get to see who the more competitive Joeys are. All good fun, and without incident. Good call whoever decided to let there be 2 winners rather than make the last 2 duel it out!

‘Pin the Ears on the Corgi’ was next, followed by Cupcake decorating and a sausage sizzle.

Leader Rachel then presented her masterpiece Crown cake and there was silence for a short while!

And, in what seems to be becoming a recurring theme, it wouldn’t be a Tuesday night at Joey’s without some more new investitures. This week, it was Daniel, Ellie & Hugo.

More to come tomorrow night!

A special thanks to parents Eva, Diane, Richard & Guy for helping with the set up of the hall & helping out with the bbq and baking cupcakes.
