These practices are designed specifically for college students; however, any one can practice these techniques to enjoy a less stressful life. When someone asks how are you doing, many people are quick to respond with "good" or "okay". But in actuality, how "good" are we? According to the American Institute of Stress, "It is associated with ingrained and immediate reactions over which we have no control that were originally designed to be beneficial". We have become so conditioned to say "good" that we block out how we are actually feeling. By eliminating stressors (stressful environments, relationships, situations, etc.) we can becoming healthier and conscious of our health, even if it is for a short period of time. As for myself, it was not until my junior year of college that I started to implement self-care. In this slideshow, you will be able to see how the individual images can relieve stress.
