This year’s #HTXMentalHealth Children's Art Contest hosted by Mental Health America of Greater Houston and Nick Finnegan Counseling Center attracted entries from 7 school districts and 3 private schools in greater Houston.

With the themes: “What Feelings Mean To Me,” for Kindergarten-2nd grades; “How I Take Care of My Thoughts and Feelings,” for 3rd-5th grades; and “What Mental Health Means To Me,” for 6th-8th grades, the 2015 contest invited children to submit original art conveying their understanding of mental health.

Artwork from children who entered the contest from Alief, Aldine, Clear Creek, East Chambers, Fort Bend, Houston, and Spring Branch Independent School Districts as well as those from Excelsior Academy, KIPP 3D Academy, River Oaks Baptist School can be viewed on the #HTxMentalHealth Children’s Mental Health Art Gallery online at
