2021 Week 2_Shadowless Object Photography
To shoot week's Trevor Carpenter Photo Challenge, as with most of my macro photographs, I used a white trifold display posterboard, and I ran a roll of white paper down the front, sides, and surface so that I wouldn't have a dark line where the bottom of the posterboard met the flat surface. I had some natural light from a window, which I supplemented with two Lume mini light panels on two sides of the subject to fill in the shadows. My settings were f/8, 1/50, ISO 640, with a +2 exposure compensation. In some minimal post-processing, I boosted the exposure just a little for a softer look on the gloves, although I wanted to preserve the outline of the white cup. I tilted the cup so you can see the Bailey's logo on the inner side, and just for fun, I added an "ad line" with a second layer!
