501 - Douglas C-47 - ex-Muscat and Oman Air Force - Castle Donington - 13 November 73

A C-47 with something of a a celebrity background, the aircraft was originally 43-49716 and used as the personal transport by General Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander, during the Second World War. After seeing some service with the RAF as KK200, it was then sold to the West German Air Force, registered GA+118 and employed as the staff aircraft of Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. Later sold to the fledgling Muscat and Oman Air Force in the late 1960s, it was flown to Castle Donington on its retirement and subsequently scrapped.
