Old Sarum beeches

The outer rampart on the western side of Old Sarum, with the ditch and inner bank to the right. Clearance work is going on, with scrub and saplings being removed. The mature beech trees are being left in place. The idea is that the regrowth of grass will help keep the topsoil on the steep slopes of the hillfort.
