Morris dancing - it's not all bells and hankies !!

Goth dancers at the Faversham Hop Festival.

'This hop festival is a traditional celebration of when thousands of people travelled every year to the hop gardens of Faversham to work - many people saw it as a holiday with pay. The day would begin with songs, stories and (relatively) light working followed by an evening of music, drinks and games. The festival today is a wonderful reminder of those times. Every first weekend in September will see hundreds of people gather in the streets and particularly the market square of Faversham to prepare for music, fun, food and drinks !'
