Disposal at Bowes

140 year-old 'coffee pot' Betchworth No.1' under disposal in the shed at Springwell, Bowes Railway, 23rd July 2011. In 1871, T.H.Head engineer of London supplied the Dorking Greystone Lime Company, surrey, with an 0-4-0 Vertical Boilered Geared locomotive. The diminutive engine was actually built by Head Wrightson & Co Ltd. on Teesside and was a visitor to the Bowes Railway, on loan from the Beamish Museum, on 23rd July 2011.
