Belief & Action / Cred a Gweithred
This exhibition from Wales for Peace explores the reasons why some conscientious objectors chose to take the difficult path of resisting conscription in the First World War. It looks at some of the problems that they faced, when hundreds of thousands of men believed it was their duty, and sacrificed their lives, to fight for their country. What makes an individual take a stand when they feel that their conscience won’t allow them to follow a certain path? It also explores the legacy of these actions. In the hundred years since the First World War, how have people in Wales followed their beliefs with action in the search for peace?

Mae’r arddangosfa hwn gan brosiect Cymru dros Heddwch yn archwilio’r rhesymau ynghylch pam dewisodd rhai gwrthwynebwyr cydwybodol y llwybr anodd o wrthsefyll gorfodaeth filwrol yn y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Mae’n ystyried rhai o’r problemau y bu iddynt eu hwynebu, pan gredodd cannoedd ar filoedd o ddynion mai dyma oedd eu dyletswydd, gan aberthu eu bywydau, i frwydro dros eu gwlad. Beth sy’n ysgogi unigolyn i wneud safiad pan nad yw’n credu fod ei gydwybod yn gadael iddo ddilyn llwybr penodol? Yn ogystal mae’n ymchwilio etifeddiaeth y gweithrediadau hynny. Yn y can mlynedd ers y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf, ym mha fodd mae pobl yng Nghymru wedi dilyn eu credoau â gweithredu wrth chwilio am heddwch?
