House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

This House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a common pest here in the U.S. where it is an introduced species. They are native to Europe and Asia but have colonized all continents I believe. In fact I read in parts of the native range they are rare or endangered. I post this for all my European Contacts...may it be familiar. It is also known here as the European Sparrow or Weaver Finch. They compete here with native birds for nesting holes (aggressively.)
