Javelina Family

This Javelina Family (Tayassu tajacu) was photograpged in my Tucson, Arizona yard. Notice how the adults surround the young to protect them while resting. These guys have become a bit of a pest. They get into the garbage and make a mess. A local restaurant used to feed them as well as people and now they have no fear of humans. They have very sharp teeth and can easily kill a large dog and seriously wound a person if biitten. It is a shame as they are remarkable animals.
