It's Good To Talk
Two vintage red telephone boxes are to be restored as part of plans to transform Manchester’s St Peter’s Square.
The Grade Two-listed red phone kiosks are on Library Walk, between the Library Theatre and Town Hall Extension.
They were designed to commemorate the silver jubilee of King George V in 1935 and installed in Manchester city centre in the 1950s.
Now they are to be restored by BT for generations to come as part of a huge revamp of St Peter’s Square and the Town Hall complex.
The traditional cast-iron kiosks are protected after being given listed status by English Heritage.
