2014 Men Making a Difference in the Community Dinner
On Friday, November 7, 2014, the Legacy of Love Foundation, Inc. held its 2014 Men Making a Difference in the Community Dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Center City Philadelphia.

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of MMAD, which has honored some of the region’s most accomplished and highly-respected men, including Pennsylvania State Sen. Vincent Hughes; attorney Michael Coard, Esq.; musician and community activist Kenneth Gamble; The Philadelphia Foundation head; The Franklin Institute’s Derrick H. Pitts and William R. “Sonny” Hill. MMAD is the Legacy of Love Foundation’s signature fundraiser. This year’s honorees include Enduring Impact Award recipient Rev. Dr. W. Wilson Goode, the first African American mayor of Philadelphia and founder of the Amachi mentoring program; Inspirational Impact Award recipient Rahim Islam, president and CEO of Universal Companies; and Emerging Impact Award recipient Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, an author and journalist who is now a distinguished professor at Morehouse College.

This event is the Foundation's signature fundraiser to support its scholarship program. Since 1993, the Foundation has provided more than $120,000 in scholarships to college-bound students from throughout Greater Philadelphia
