Echoes in Time
Sunrise shot from the top of the mountain Stac Pollaidh (Stac Polly) in the far north of Scotland looking towards the mountains of Cul Mòr (left) and Cul Beag (right). Stac Pollaidh is composed of Torridan sandstone that was the bed of a sea over a billion years ago. The Torridonian mountains are some of the oldest on the planet. If you examine the stones closely you can see fossilised small shells, worms, etc, that were deposited between 1.1 to 1.2 billion years ago. Makes me feel young again.
