Playero Acollarado [Semipalmated Plover] (Charadrius semipalmatus)

Lugar: Boca del río Capaya, Barlovento, centro-norte de Venezuela.

Aquí se puede ver el collar que le da el nombre en español y las patas con las membranas que unen los dedos y le dan su nombre en inglés de semipalmeado, característica que permite diferenciarlo del muy parecido Playero acollarado común [Common Ringed Plover]

 

Place: Capaya River mouth, Barlovento, north-central Venezuela.

Here you can see the white necklace that give its Spanish name to this species, and the webs that give them their English name, feature that permits differentiate them from the very similar Common Ringed Plover.
