Newark Vulcan

Avro 698 Vulcan B.2 XM594 along with a Blue Steel stand off bomb displayed at the Newark Air Museum Winthorpe Nottinghamshire. Built in 1963 and delivered in July that year to 27 Sqn at RAF Scampton Lincolnshire, flown into Winthorpe from RAF Waddington on retirement on what was remaining of the wartime 3,000+ft (415m) runway in Feb 1983, thus becoming the first and last jet and also the biggest ever to land there, later towed on steel plates over the soft ground the short distance to the museum site.
