William Harvey 1578-1657
Born in Folkestone, Kent, he was Physician to King James VI and King Charles I of England. William Harvey discovered that blood flows continuous and in one direction. He also was the first to suggest that human and mammals reproduced via fertilisation of an egg by sperm. He has a hospital and Public House in Willesborough (Ashford) and a School in Folkestone named after him.
