s heart-iest thanks for his conscientious work ofthe past, and hopes he will be able to bossour teams in the future. WHITIE Whitie, as he is commonly known,did not enter this high school until theend of his Freshman year and this, prob-ably is the only reason why he did notmake the basket ball team that year. Hehas been a star forward the last threeyears and captain the last two years. Hewas feared by all the teams in this partof the state both for his speed and ac-curacy on shots at all angles and dis-tances from the basket. He is consideredone of the best all-around athletes thatthe Fort Wayne High School has everhad and when he graduates this year,will leave the impression behind him ofone who, by his faithful and untiring ef-forts, has given this high school its muchneeded foot-hold on athletics. STRIXG PETE Ken is only a Sophomore, but he hasbeer .1 member of the basket ball teamboth his years in high school. As cen-ters had always been a scarcity until hisarrival at school he had little difficultyin making- the team in his first year. Hehas been one of the main factors in boththe floor work and scoring-. He has sel-dom missed either practice or a gameand is counted on by everybody to do big-things the next two years. He is loyaland game and often played when injuredsufficiently to be on crutches, simply be-cause we had nobody else to fill in hisimportant position. HERB Herbert Meyers, 16, joined the squadin February and immediately made hispresence felt. He was not able to makethe team before this time because he hadjust come from another school in Sep-tember and his credits would not permithim playing on the team. His presence atforward after February put more pepin the play of the team, and his shooting-was also a great factor. He is only aSophomore and. under the eye of C
