Rothenberg ob der Tauber
This is quaint little Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a fairytale village east of Nuremberg, Germany. You would almost expect to see life-sized dolls sitting in these houses. It also reminds me of a Christmas village with the steep roofs designed for lots of snow and the medieval style.

This village is very charming, however everybody else thinks so too. It is overrun with tourists...not really my style, so I'm glad I was only there for a few hours.

I purchased a Bayern ticket when I left Ingolstadt. It allows the holder to ride any trains, buses and trams for one full day in Bavaria only. I took advantage of it when I arrived in Nuremberg. I off-loaded my luggage in the hotel room and hopped on the first train to Rothenburg, which included two train transfers, a total of 100 kilometers.
