Salar de Uyuni (Salt Flats) Bolivia
Here is another really interesting variety of landscapes in the volcanic region of Bolivia.

The salt flats in Bolivia are the largest in the world at 10,582 square kilometers and also 11,995 ft above sea level. The air is quite thin so acclimatizing is a must otherwise you'll be very light headed and quite possibly end up with altitude sickness...not fun as I found out on my way from Lima to Cusco.

There are lots of volcanoes in this region as well as high altitude volcanic lakes that pink flamingos call home. Quite an amazing sight!
