San Diego Mormon Temple
I consider this to be the most beautiful building in San Diego, because of the way it reflects light and passes it through its windows, and because the the texture of the walls. It also might be the hardest one to photograph, due to the many angles that cause consistently high contrast, which is why I chose to make an HDR.
Although I drive by this temple every day, I hadn't attempted to photograph it before, when, last Saturday, on my way home from the Zoo, I thought I'd investigate access to it and take a few test shots, as a beginning of a plan for a shoot in the "good" light. I used my old body, since it already had the 17-40mm F4L lens on it, from my Zoo shoot.
The sky was prettier than expected, as was the temple, so I decided to post this shot. I'm hoping to find access to good views from the West, because sunsets provide the best light. I've also seen some pretty night shots of this, here on Flickr, so I'm going to give that a try someday.
