By Gondola at the Rialto Bridge
A couple view Venice the classic way, by gondola in front of the Rialto Bridge, while a seagull takes in the scene. Originally constructed as a pontoon bridge in 1181, it has been replaced numerous times over the years after wooden structures burned or collapsed. The present stone bridge was completed in 1591. Although the style was heavily criticized initially, it has become one of the iconic landmarks of Venice.
