The Theatre Royal Halifax opened in 1904, replacing an earlier theatre of 1790 on the same site. It was designed by Richard Horsfall & Son. It is proposed to demolish the auditorium and construct a new hotel incorporating the façade - there really is very little worth salvaging apart from the frontage and various exterior stoneworks like the stage entrance, as can be seen in the following pictures. August 2008.
