(74/365) :: If on the third try you can't get the photo right, just give up
Um, so yeah, three tries to do this simple arms length (kind of, at least the remote was arms length) photo, and I still could not get it in focus and unmoved. So I gave up. Today is not a camera day, I guess.
So take the least bad of the horrible photos, open in Photoshop, play around to make the colors less bad, as there's not much I can do about the focus and blur, and call it a day.
Anyways - yesterday I made apple pear jam! SO GOOD!!! Too much sugar (seriously, way too much), but didn't want to change the recipe when I had never made it before. Now I know for the next time.
I've got 5 small jars of the stuff but can't can it yet, and I'm not going to reprocess it once I get the stuff I need to can it (it's on its way, but by the time it gets here there will me other things I'll want to cook and can). Anyone in the Seattle area want one? :-P
Since it looks like we'll be heading up to Vancouver next weekend, I might take a couple to give to our friends over there. I wish I could take one to my mother during Christmas; but if I'm not processing it, then I'd rather it be eaten sooner. Plus, her jams are much better, and she would just tell me that it's too sweet.
I had another cooking spree last night, and that finished last week's CSA box - almost in time for the next one (there were still some mushrooms and lettuce that we ate tonight). I thought we'd never finish it, I guess I was wrong :-)
Went to see the first apartment of Apartment Hunting in Seattle 2008-2009. Liked it. A lot. Very very much. But even I am not so impulsive as to take the first place I see. Maybe the second or third, but not the first one :-P
We're in no hurry to find a place to live in right now (we have till February) so right now we're only going to see places which have everything in our wishlist. As February get near and we get more desperate we'll relax our criteria and look at everything. Or maybe we'll have a place by next week, who knows. Did I tell you I was impulsive?
