Here's my tribute to one of the greatest racing drivers ever and my personal favorite for what he was and did in and outside the tracks, Ayrton Senna. It's no coincidence I'm posting it today despite having this creation ready for a year now, since today marks 26 years from his unfortunate accident at Imola, Italy.
I never had the chance to see him race, as at the time of his death I wasn't even born. But when I got to know him by the videos and stories I finally understood why is his memory so strong even all this time later. He is my greatest source of inspiration and I wish there were more people like him in evidence nowadays.
The car I chose as a tribute couldn't be another, the Mclaren MP4/6. This wasn't the most powerful or the one with more winnings of his collection, but it was the model in which mr. Senna won the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix, on march 24th. The story behind the race was very interesting aswell.
The car removes all the covers and features wheel steering. I am absolutely pleased with the final result, and hope you feel the same.
