    An official Cooke Locomotive & Machine Works photo of a new 2-8-2 steam locomotive for the Pekin & Kalgan Railway in China.

    The Cooke Locomotive and Machine Works, located in Paterson, New Jersey, manufactured steam railroad locomotives from 1852 until it was merged with seven other manufacturers to form American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in 1901. ALCO continued building new locomotives at the Cooke plant until 1926.

      Pekin-Kalgan Railway acquired totally 46 Mikado type locomotives from ALCo. First order was No.75 to 93 which had been renumbered as No. 301 to 319 later. Second orders was No. 320 to 346 (Works No. 63030-63054/1922). After 1949, this type of locomotive was renamed as China Railway JF12 which was revoke in 1990.
