District 3 Art Show - ted laredo
Now showing at Commissioner Hart Stebbins' District 3 Art Show - 'ted laredo: off the map', which is the 34th in a series of exhibits showcasing the talent and creativity of District 3 artists.

"This exhibit is abstract and thought-provoking; it challenges our perception of the world around us," says Commissioner Hart Stebbins. " welcome the community to see his work that makes the extraordinary out of the ordinary."

"Sublime beauty is found where and when we least expect it," says artist ted laredo. "There is great force, and spirit, in the subtleties of life."

ted laredo was born in Laredo, Tex. in 1966. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1990. He received the Clare Hart Degolyer Memorial Fund Award from the Dallas Museum of Art in 1990 and the Jury's Choice Award, Art of Albuquerque 2002, presented by the Magnifico at the Albuquerque Museum in 2002.

A contemporary American artist, ted laredo's paintings and line drawings are purposefully minimal. His works are layered with acrylic paint, phosphorescent pigment and glass micro beads that read light in different ways throughout the day, and then shimmer with an inner-light at night.

ted laredo moved to New Mexico in 1991 and currently lives and works in Bernalillo County Commission District 3.
