Hannah Carlson, soprano, is a native of Des Moines, IA. Her most recent stage appearance was as The Old Blue Woman in Pinnochio with Boston Conservatory Opera. Other notable stage appearances include Gretel in Hansel & Gretel, Belinda in Dido & Aeneas, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Julie Jordan in Carousel, and Rose Maurrant in Street Scene, all with Opera Simpson. Upcoming roles include Deuxième Esprit in Massenet's Cendrillon with Promenade Opera Project and the cover of Blanche de la Force in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites with Boston Conservatory Opera.
A frequent of not only the theatrical stage, Ms. Carlson was most recently heard as the soprano soloist in Mendelssohn's "Hear My Prayer" at the Boston Conservatory. In the summer of 2017, Ms. Carlson worked as a Young Artist at the Ad Astra Music Festival, where she sang a variety of choral, oratorio, and concert work. This fall she will be the soprano soloist as part of The Spectrum Project in David Wallace's "William Blake Rhapsody."
Ms. Carlson is a current student at the Boston Conservatory where she is pursuing her Master of Music in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Rebecca Folsom. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Simpson College where she received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.
