1922-010

Interior of the Weis Pure Food Store, located in the Decker-Hendricks building, on the NE corner of Market and Walnut Streets, about 1922. The store, which opened on May 27, 1921, was number twenty-six in the grocery chain started by brothers Harry and Sigmund Weis, sons of former Selinsgrove merchant Sigfried Weis. The store remained in this location until 1934, when it was relocated to the middle of the same block, adjacent to the current Emma's Restaurant. The Decker-Hendricks building was destroyed by fire on February 15, 1938.
