Canada Goose Feet with Id Band--Shows Same Geese Returned
Close-up of Canada goose feet with an Id band. The band has a number that uniquely identifies the goose. This photo was taken by the pond at Metzger Farm Open Space in Westminster and Broomfield, Colorado.
This band shows that this is the male goose that nested last year (2014) at this pond. When this photo was taken, the male was with a banded female that was the same female as last year--which is expected since Canada geese mate for life.
The Flickr album Canada Geese, 2014 shows this pair of geese at their nest and raising their goslings. A photo with information about banding and the numbers for these geese is at www.flickr.com/photos/nature80020/14130388791/in/set-7215...
This pair of geese seem comfortable with people close by.
