~ Battle of the Windmill ~

Newer Older

The "Battle of the Windmill" (later converted to a lighthouse)

Battle of the Windmill was a battle fought in November 1838 in the aftermath of the Upper Canada Rebellion. Loyalist forces of the Upper Canadian government defeated an invasion attempt by Hunter Patriot insurgents based in the United States.
Basically.... Canada kicked a$$! (unfortunate that we must still rely on the same canons)

3 standing shots, HDR using Photomatix Pro 3
Beautiful place to visit along the Saint Lawrence (Saint Laurent) River and one of the highlight finds of the day.

Thank you everyone for stopping into the Canada - USA image and leaving comments and invites before it even makes it to groups. Much appreciated.
Hope everyone is having an outstanding Wednesday and is enjoying the lack of snow in their shots as I am.
BIG HELLO from Ottawa, Canada.

Great use of limited HDR in its original use, to attune photos to a more natural human vision. Perfect eye catching effect, great for the group
