Bicolored Antpitta (Grallaria rufocinerea)

The Bicolored Antpitta (Grallaria rufocinerea), threatened by habitat loss, is another secretive, shy and wary bird of the Grallariidae family (Antpittas). Its habitat is dense undisturbed moist Andes forest usually at altitudes between 2200 and 3150 meters. It is near endemic to Colombia and was only recently discovered in the extreme northeast of Ecuador near the Colombian border.
