Louvre - The Wedding at Cana - Veronese
This large painting was created by Paolo Caliari, known as Veronese. In was finished in 1563 for the refectory of the benedictine monks at San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. It depicts the famous Biblical wedding at Cana, where Jesus Christ turned water into wine, his first recorded miracle.
Note: The famous Mona Lisa of Leonardo DaVinci is located in the same room on the opposite wall. I did not take a photo of the Mona Lisa... the crowd in front of it was just simply too large for me to get a clear shot. Besides, you've seen her a million times! Interestingly, she measures about 1/2000th the size of "Wedding at Cana".
