My Higher Power - March BJP
Try showing your relationship to your God or your Higher Power some day. It's an interesting challenge. The only way I could see to do it was to work completely improvisationally, without any plan whatsoever.
With "higher power" tucked in the back of my mind, I simply went through my stash picking things that seemed compelling. I stitched them on the fabric quickly, each bead or group of beads suggesting the next.
For those who like to know:
-- fabric: cotton batik
-- thread: nymo, size D
-- stabalizer: interleaving paper
-- finished size of block: 9 1/4 inches across the diagonal
-- length of the "arms" on the beaded X-shape: 5 inches
-- beads: size 15, 11 and 8 seed beads, glass buttons, pressed glass shapes, carved abalone birds
-- eventual plan: join the twelve beaded blocks to make a wall quilt
