Pale-legged hornero (Furnarius leucopus), Machalilla, Ecuador

With typical gait, an angry-looking pale-legged hornero struts purposefully across open grass in Machalilla. Horno is the Spanish for oven, a reference to the curiously oven-shaped clay nests that members of this family build, immortalísed in David Attenborough's 1950s film 'Zoo Quest to Paraguay'.
