Saturday night treat

Fillet steaks marinated in a mixture of red wine, black peppercorns, cumin seeds and smoked paprika.

 

The rest of the marinade was made into a sauce to go with the steak.

 

Herby Potato Bake: matchstick potato mixed with crispy fried fresh rosemary, dried thyme, crispy fried garlic slices, freshly ground sea salt and black pepper, freshly ground nutmeg, a packet of Boursin Herbs and some double cream. Topped with Cheddar Cheese and baked in the oven until brown. The potato sticks still had that al-dente texture to them - this was one of my best experiments for a long time.

 

Steamed tenderstem broccoli.

 

Cherry tomatoes on the vine baked in the oven with a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar and freshly ground black pepper.

 

Beer battered onion rings.

 

Wholegrain mustard and horseradish relish.
