What's the protocol for naming MgN-* frames? It was MgN-301 for a while, then people seemed to just add whatever alphanumeric digits they wanted at the end. Right?

      I've been wondering this myself.

I try to give naming rights to the original creator of a frame. If another builder creates a significant modification to that frame, and the modification is adopted by the community, that second builder gets naming rights so long as the name gives a nod to the original. Malcolm called the original the MgN-302 and 303. Soren then made the frame taller and called it the MgN-303EX. Since then Malcom has made MgN's with several numeric extensions designating different models. This mech has features of his MgN-311/3030, but is not exactly a 3030, so I dropped the numeric extension and kept the ex as a nod to Soren and his contribution to this frame design.
