Looking over Heron Quay, Canary Wharf.
Formed in 1802, as part of West India Quay, Canary Wharf was one of the busiest docks in the world. This success only began to decline in the 1950s, fully closing in 1980. In the 80s plans began to regenerate the area, by turning it into an Enterprise Zone in 1982, to much local opposition.
