"Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH" organized a study tour to Istanbul within the scope of Sustainable Urban Transport (SUSTRAN) Project. The high level delegation composed of representatives from ministry of transport, ministry of urban development, local governments and UN-Habitat had meetings with officials from both Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and İETT (İstanbul Public Bus Authority).
After these meetings, SUSTRAN Project delegation –conducting studies on urban development- met with EMBARQ Turkey.The experts from EMBARQ Turkey made presentations on three projects: (1) Road Safety Laboratory, (2) BRT Road Safety and Accessibility Inspection Follow-Up, (3) Historic Peninsula Pedestrianization Project. With the company of EMBARQ Turkey experts, a study tour was organized to Historic Peninsula to discuss impacts of the Pedestrianization project on site.
