In the spirit of Consuewella Africa! We must all MOVE to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal & All Political Prisoners

March and Rally for Mumia Abu-Jamal and also honoring MOVE sister Consuewella Africa*

Saturday July 3, 2021 at the Municipal Services Bldg, 1401 JFK Blvd, Philadelphia. Don’t let them take any more of our Freedom Fighters!

Rain prevented the participants from marching but all the speakers were able to say their points under the building's overhang.

The event was the first public participation of the Mumia puppet. The 18ft Mumia Giant puppet idea originated and was designed by Jacqueline Wade, who was also the lead builder on the puppet project from Women of Color Productions, Inc. Colleagues and volunteers worked with Jacqueline in the building process of the giant Mumia puppet. Costume designer was Sandra May Flowers. Structural consultant was Little Wolf. Sara Peattie also gave structural suggestions. The puppet was built in Gowanus, Brooklyn, at Building Stories, where Jacqueline Wade’s company Women of Color Productions, Inc is located.

Mumia is an innocent man, a victim of racist police brutality and unjustly incarcerated by PA for over 39 years. His case is currently under appeal. It represents the injustice of a system that has wrongly incarcerated millions of our family and revolutionaries. He recently underwent open-heart surgery.

*Consuewella Africa passed June 16, 2021, from lung issues and stress due to the state’s mistreatment of the remains of her daughters Tree Africa and Netta Africa, murdered by this government May 13th 1985. Minister of Confrontation for the MOVE organization.
