Philly DA: Release the files! May 30 March
by joepiette2
Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling in Williams v. Pennsylvania, Mumia could be one step closer to freedom. Ronald Castille, who later rejected Mumia's appeals as a judge, was district attorney during Mumia's initial appeal process. This conflict of interest is a violation of due process according to the precedent of Williams v. Pennsylvania.
Given the longstanding history of corruption within the Philadelphia DA's Office, we have real cause for concern regarding their compliance with Judge Tucker's court order that they release ALL files pertaining to Castille's involvement. A Tuesday, May 30th Press Conference & Rally, was held urging the DA's office to release the files for Abu-Jamal as well as 13 other prisoners in similar circumstances.
