I heard an unfamiliar birdsong at the rest stop. I pished a bit and was divebombed by this little mite - a male MacGillivray's Warbler. The dialect here is quite different from farther inland so I didn't recognize it at first. But then I recognized the overall quality of the song was the same, just without a 2nd part. More like Chirrrr-Chirrrr-Chirrrr-Chirrrr-Chirrr. Taken at Basalt Creek Rest Area, June 18, 2009.
