Warbling Vireo - Vireo gilvus - adult male

Being a drab grayish-green above and light yellowish-white below doesn't put you in the forefront of world-class bird beauties. But the Warbling Vireo male makes up for it by being a very chatty beast. Upon first arrival on his breeding grounds and for about six weeks thereafter, he will sing from dawn to dusk with only short pauses. He can often be found singing from the nest when helping the female incubate the eggs! Prince George, BC. May 16, 2014.
