Wild Rabbit Pie

The wild rabbit pie I made at the weekend - it also included "forcemeat balls", which are breadcrumbs, bacon, egg, suet, herbs, lemon peel and lemon juice made into small balls and fried in lard - delicious!

 

The forcemeat balls were necessary because a pie made from one large wild rabbit isn't quite enough for the whole family.

 

The puff pastry on top went a bit wild.
