Aziz walks by the Northwest Kabul Breshna Sub Station

05 May 2012, Kabul Afghanistan: Aziz, 26 years old, walks by the Northwest Kabul Breshna Sub Station where he applied for a job." Our lives have improved with electricity " he says. "Now we have TV Air Conditioning and we can get to know the world. Without the internet we are blind.".One of the largest power suppliers to urban Kabul, Breshna is a recipient of the Emergency Power Rehabilitation Project that is working to supply improved and more reliable supplies of electricity to the city. It is doing this by rehabilitating and expanding city distribution networks; connecting the city grid to the future North East Transmission system to allow for lower cost power from Uzbekistan and rehabilitating a 110kV transmission line from Naghlu to Kabul.
