Ondumbe, a typical Owambo village

Ondangwa lies in Owambo in the north of Namibia. It is a small town that exists mainly on the main road running through the centre. There are markets, businesses as well as new shopping centres along the road. It is a curious mixture of old and new, rural life and modern life clinging to the main arterial route in the area. Ondumbe is a small but typical Owambo village close to Ondangwa. Cattle and goats are the main livestock in the area. Photo: John Hogg / World Bank
